To discard - to get rid of something or somebody who is no longer considered useful or desirable. So when we discard people we are seeing them as objects who can be considered as having value - or not. This can only happen if those who discard others see themselves as objects as well. Because if you can understand that just to be human is enough then you don't judge and value others in this way.
Much of my work is about trying to show the beauty in what we discard. This is not just a brick wall on a housing estate. A tree has cast a shadow which is lit by the sun and it dances on the wall. Look again at what you do in life. Who are you discarding? Who do you think doesn't have value? What do you think does?
